Demon - Leek FC 7th June 2000
Just to let anyone who didn't go (which was almost everybody in the country) - at best, 50 people turned up in Wolverhampton - Demon were brilliant on their return to the UK stage. Even playing for a handful of people they put on a great set - (not necessarily in the right order) Blackheath, The Plague, Life on the Wire, Sign of a Madman, Don't Break The Circle, Hurricane, Heart of Our Time, Remembrance Day, No More Hell on Earth, Liar, Into the Nightmare, Night of The Demon (and a couple I'm sure I've forgotten!).
I have been waiting 20 years to see this band and I was not disappointed. The set was all the ones you would have expected (although, personally, I would have enjoyed The Lion's Share and Big Chance too but, hey, I'm looking for things to pick fault with here). The band was tight and Dave's voice is exactly the same as on the recorded material - superb. The sound was particularly good but it usually is at the Robin.
Anyway, even after 20 years, they lived up to my expectations and if you are in Telford on the 27th, or Newcastle-under-Lyme on the 30th I'll see you there!
Go, they are worth it.
