Beacon Hill

One thing you realise pretty quickly about Beacon Hill is that it is rather affluent. This is old money and, chances are, if you live in Boston, and are someone, you will live somewhere in Beacon Hill.
Charles St

My first port of call was the bohemian heart of Beacon Hill, around Charles and Beacon.
Louisburg Sq.

This is one of the most exclusive addresses anywhere on the planet.
You do not even want to know how much these properties cost. Basically, if you have to ask the price, you sure as hell can't afford to live here.
Beacon Hill is a swanky place to live and pretty exclusive in its own right, but Louisburg Sq is another level entirely. Ain't no poor people living anywhere round here, unless they work for you!

Acorn St

According to the signage, this is the most photographed street in Boston. Maybe I'm missing something obvious but I fail to see the attraction. Then again, I'm from the industrial north of England where back to back houses are not exactly special.
Those crazy Americans ;-)

At this point, I'd had enough for one day. It had turned out hotter than I had expected, topping off in the low 30s. I was hot, tired, and hungry. I got back on Charles and walked along to the junction with Beacon St, hopped the trolley back to Copley Plaza, grabbed a shower and headed off to the bar for a Long Island Iced Tea, or four.
My tour of Beacon HIll had only covered a part of it, so I made plans to come back again the following weekend.
