The Rittz and Friends Festival - The Club Congleton 4th August 2012
Luke Gray & Danny Wilde

The Rittz and Friends Festival 2012
Back outside for Luke Gray and Danny Wilde.
Luke I know, Danny, I don't (although, I've been dying to get the Persuader line in somewhere. If you're of a certain age, you'll get it. If not, never mind!) They put together a nice acoustic set and played it well. They appeared to have one or two fans in the audience and the atmosphere was most enjoyable. I was standing to one side, trying to dodge drops of rain dripping from the marquee and inhaling the aromas drifting across from the barbecue. The rain had started during John Ainsworth's set, a little earlier and, although it was just intermittent and light, a few drips down the back of your neck gets your attention.
Still, I enjoyed the duo and began to appreciate the organisation of the event, sandwiching the outdoor acoustic sets between the rockier, indoor ones. It really made the acoustic stuff stand out and there was not much (if any) overlap. Acts like Luke and Danny really made a really nice change of pace. I don't have the setlist but I think the songs were original compositions and it was all good stuff. Luke has a distinctive voice and a lovely Northern delivery and is well worth seeing. They are a good duo and play well together. They have already had a certain amount of good live exposure and I certainly expect good things for them, in the future.
